Dr. Lawrence Nguyen

Dr. Nguyen is a native Texan, having grown up in the Spring/Woodlands area and graduating valedictorian from Klein High School in 1994.  He then moved to College Station to attend Texas A&M University with the highest honors and scholarships, including National Merit and Presidential Scholar awards, graduating in 1997 with a degree in Genetics and French.  He relocated to Dallas for medical school at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, then transitioned back to Houston for his residency at the University of Texas Houston Medical Center from 2001 to 2005 with a specialty and board certification in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Dr. Nguyen stayed on as medical staff with the University of Texas Department of PM&R in 2005-2006 with many teaching responsibilities for the residents and fellows, including lecturing at the annual board review course.  He joined the Houston Methodist/Weill Cornell Hospital System in 2006 and was a founding member of the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation section for Methodist.  Dr. Nguyen served a long, rewarding 16 years as clinical assistant professor at Methodist Hospital, including four years as Medical Director of the Methodist Rehab Hospital. Dr. Nguyen parted ways with Houston Methodist over disputes regarding vaccine mandates in 2022 and joined Dr. Edward Nash in private practice at Progressive Pain and Rehabiliation in The Woodlands.  Doctors Nash and Nguyen are lifelong close friends and athletic training partners, attending Klein High School, Texas A&M University, and The University of Texas PM&R Residency together. 

 Dr. Nguyen is also the Medical Director and co-founder of Full Spectrum Wound Care which serves the Huntsville and North Houston surrounding areas.  Returning to his roots as an outdoorsman, Dr. Nguyen truly enjoys the old-fashioned, rural culture of Huntsville, surrounded by ranchers and rodeo professionals.  He has expanded his clinical practice to join Dr. Jeff Pruski, DC who is a long-term native to Huntsville with over 3 decades of chiropractic care serving this community.  Together they established the Revive Pain and Regenerative Medicine Center.  Dr. Nguyen’s primary clinical focuses are in Regenerative and Musculoskeletal medicine as well as wound care, with certifications as an Excisional Debridement Specialist and Wound Care Practitioner. 

Outside of his professional life, Dr. Nguyen has been deeply involved in athletics since childhood.  He has extensive experience in running and strength training sports, having raced  in every distance from short sprints to ultra-distance marathons and triathlons.  He has been a top ranked weight-lifter in the past and continues to live the “meathead” dream well into middle-age.  He currently still practices weights, calisthenics, or rock climbing nearly every day, but now considers himself a half-time athlete and half-time soccer-mom, chauffeuring his twins to and from climbing practice, competitions, and more.
